This mixed bag of freesia bulbs includes a wonderful array of colours, perfect for brightening borders or patio areas in the garden. Growing to a height of approximately 25cm, these colourful blooms grow on slender green stems and bring a beautiful fragrance to your outdoor space; they also look stunning as a cut flower.

Freesias are delicate flowers and will struggle to grow in fluctuating temperatures - growing in a greenhouse during the colder months of the year is the best way to ensure good growth and avoid any damage to the stems or leaves.

Advice & Tips:

• Freesia bulbs can be planted in the autumn or in the spring, in well-drained soil which has been mixed with organic matter and sand.
• Bulbs should be placed 8cm into the soil with approximately 5-8cm between each bulb.
• During the growing period, the soil should be kept moist.
• Twigs inserted into the soil act as support and will keep the freesia stems straight.
• Freesias can also be started indoors by planting in 5cm of bulb fibre, moistening and then planting into fertile soil.
