Mr Fothergills Onion Seeds - Vento F1 Variety

Vento F1 is an early maincrop onion with clear-skinned, uniform bulbs that are great for exhibition. These seeds will yield sweet flavoured onions that store well and provide a good source of vitamin C.

Sow indoors between January-April or outdoors in April & they will typically be ready to Harvest between August-September.

Advice & Tips:

• Sow indoors for best results
• Sow thinly in small trays of seed compost & water well
• Keep in the warmth - a temperature of 15-20°C is ideal & keep moist
• Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions before planting out
• Plant out allowing 23cm between plants
• Or sow thinly outdoors, allowing 30cm between rows
• Seedlings usually appear within 14-28 days
• Thin to 23cm apart - thinnings can be transplanted
• Allow onions to dry before storing in a cool, dry room
