Cairngorm F1 is a vigorous British bred leek with thick white shanks. Grow outdoors in vegetable beds or pots for uniform leeks that provide a good source of vitamin C, iron & folate.
Sow indoors between January-February or outdoors between March-April & they will typically be ready to Harvest between September-February.

Advice & Tips:
Sow thinly outdoors in a seed bed; seedlings usually appear in 14-28 days
Water well until established
Transplant 15cm apart into 15cm deep holes made with a dibber
Water seedlings but don't fill holes with soil
As plants grow draw up soil onto them to improve length of the blanch
Or sow thinly indoors in a tray of compost
Water well & place in a cold frame or unheated greenhouse; keep moist
Transplant 5cm apart into other trays when large enough
Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions before planting out - avoid frosts
Apply high nitrogen fertiliser to your leek bed before planting out for a long growing season
