The 'Shirley Temple' variety of Peony has been chosen by Taylors Bulbs to be part of their Select Range due to its fragrant flowers; the fluffy blooms appear later than most other peony varieties, appearing blush pink at first before slowing fading to a stunning white colouring.
Growing to a height of 80cm, the flowering period for peonies is incredibly brief, but the blooms are sure to add a beautiful pop of colour to the back of beds or borders. Once cut, they also look stunning as part of floral displays or bouquets.
Key Information:
Blush pink blooms which fade to white
Great for borders and as cut flowers
Advice & Tips:
Plant peony bulbs in rich, well-drained soil, with each bulb covered by approximately 5-10cm of soil and 60cm away from other bulbs.
During the first year, water the bulbs regularly, applying a general fertiliser each Spring.
The flowers should be removed as they fade at the end of flowering season.
Peonies are fully hardy, dying down during the autumn and staying dormant in the soil until the next spring.
