Taylors Bulbs - June to October Harvest Collection - Main Crop Seed Potatoes
Enjoy three potato varieties this summer with this collection of seed potatoes by Taylors Bulbs.
This variety pack contains the following main crop seed potatoes:
Desiree Potato - With its red skin and very distinctive flavour, the Desiree variety has a creamy and floury texture and is the perfect all-rounder when harvested in September/October.
Wilja Potato - A Dutch variety with an earthy flavour and medium-dry texture, the Wilja potato has a creamy yellow flesh and rough skin, making it a versatile option in the kitchen.
Pentland Javelin Potato - Suitable for growing in all soil types, this variety's white flesh rarely discolours after cooking and is a great choice for roasting. Harvest in June/July for use throughout the summer months.

Advice & Tips:
Dig over the area you wish to plant your potatoes, removing any weeds.
Create shallow ridges in the ground approximately 60cm apart, planting the seed potatoes into the ridge approximately 12cm deep and 22cm apart.
When the plants have grown to approximately 20cm in height, draw soil up around the lower leaves to protect the newly forming potatoes.
For an earlier harvest, potatoes can be chitted before planting - to do this, place the seed potatoes into an open container, such as an egg box, and leave in a light and airy position, protected from frost, to allow the potatoes to grow small shoots. Be careful not to damage the chits when planting into the ground.
